Welcome...
Did you know that Midland used to have 6 lake/ponds with year-round water as late as 1950?
Did you know
there's only 3 left, and only 1 is actually safe from damage or destruction?

Where is Midland?

NEW

Read the 2-part series of Midland History by Ed Hennings. Ed Hennings and Stacy Emerson are working on forming the Midland Historical Society and are interested in Midland-related photos, stories and documents. If you have anything you'd like to share, they'd be ever-so grateful (originals will be returned to the owners after copies are made). For more information contact Ed Hennings via (253) 535-4324.

Important Messages!

UPDATE: Construction of the South Midland Wetland Reserve, at 104th St. East and McKinley Avenue East will begin the first or second week
in June.

The first steps that
our Contractor, Ceccanti Inc., General Contractors will undertake will be surveying  and staking the cut and fill limits, placing construction fencing and silt fencing, and clearing and grubbing areas to be excavated or to receive fill.

Over the course of the summer Ceccanti will be hauling  50,000 cubic yards of material from the site. Some of it will be stockpiled on-site for later re-use, but at 10-15 yards a dump-truck (15 with the pup), that is likely to be about 3,000 dump truck trips.

For questions about the project, you may call the Project Manager, Ann Boeholt, at (253)798-4694 or view the project website: www.piercecountywa.org/smwr.
